Eurocucina, one of the most important kitchen fairs

From the 14th to the 19th of April the exhibitory spaces of Fiera Milano have hosted one of the most important European events dedicated to kitchens, their furnishings, to the press and the associations of this sector. Eurocucina, which takes place in conjunction with the Salone Internazionale del Mobile (International Furniture Fair) each two years (the date of the next fair has already been decided, 17-22 April 2012), has become a benchmark for all the companies, and not only the Italian ones, producing modern, classic and design kitchens. As happened also in the past years, the number of foreign visitors has been more than satisfying and, according to the organisers of the event, the fair could be even more successful, if the cloud caused by the Icelandic volcano, which paralysed air traffic, especially in North Europe, had not halted many other potential visitors.

In spite of the cloud and of the crisis that is still affecting many sectors (although kitchens seem to have resisted better than other furniture sectors), Eurocucina has fulfilled expectations, and the numbers show the success of the fair: 155 exhibitors coming from all over Italy, form Germany (even more present than in the past years), Austria, France, Republic of San Marino, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, and the States; a 32,500 m exhibitory space; 4 pavilions entirely dedicated to the fair. As always, Eurocucina has been a huge showcase for the company producing all kinds of kitchens (from the classic to the modern ones, from wooden to built-in kitchens), but also furnishings. An event that is getting more and more important for all the companies of this sector, which consider such events important to relaunch their business, as well as to continue exporting Italian kitchens, famous for their aesthetic value and their quality, which are unique in the world, also on foreign markets.

Eurocucina is also meant to highlight that this room has multiplied its functions, and from a bare space used to cook and possibly eat food, it has become a real place of socialization, also conceived to welcome guests and to do many daily activities in it. Form the pavilions of Eurocucina a new trend has emerged: trying to create new types of kitchens, which can keep pace with the changes that the idea we have of kitchen is undergoing, and meet the different needs of different costumers. Way must therefore be given to kitchens which are more and more modern, to fitted kitchens, which can be personalized according to different needs, and to new and unusual materials.

In conjunction with Eurocucina also FTK (Technology for the Kitchen) has been held: this is an event dedicated to built-in appliances and cooker hoods, which has hosted 26 of the most important companies of this sector. A unique chance to discover the prototypes of the appliances that are not on sale yet, but that we might use in the near future.
